Hi everyone. I had avoided changing to the 2.0 version for a bit because I'm lazy, but I set it up this morning. Much better. Nice work, sir. The only problem I've had that i didn't see mentioned (I'm using the 2.02 version now) is that occasionally the area along the bottom, a row about a quarter inch high, becomes unclickable. It covers the two button arrays along the bottom, the Player/Group button, and the Minimap/Omen/et cetera button. If I log out, then back in, it's fine.

Nothing big, just something I noticed. Keep up the good work, and get some rest occasionally so you don't burn out.

Iljott, thanks for that tip. It's so easy to overlook an obvious solution

Sticky Chat Channels

Got a feature request from a few of my officers who are now using nUI - They want to know if "chat sticky channels" can be implemented at some point. (In the meantime, we're using Chatmanager to do it, which I think will be fine) You know - You say something in guild chat , you stay in guild chat, etc

Thank you for the kind word Blackal -- 25 and 40 man are coming soon.

I do have a thought though;

Is there anyway to turn off the default buff bar? I personaly like to use CT_BuffMod, and turn all my (de)buffs into a stacked window with bars. CT turns off the Blizz default buff bars, but when loading Nui and CT_Buff together, the Blizz buffs are forced back on.

Its strictly a prefrence thing, feel free to ignore me
I'm not sure why the Bliz buffs would be forced back on? That's kind of odd as I turn them off and move them off screen both. That said, at present there's not an "easy" way to do what you're asking for until I enable saved skins. For now, the only option would be to edit the unit frame skins and remove the Aura sections from them for player and/or target.

And, actually, nUI can make (de)buff bars... it was an idea I floated a few weeks back with some sample screenshots with buff bars in the upper corners of the display which, for the most part, was resoundingly disapproved of ~lol~ Nonetheless, it is doable with nUI.

When I changed to the Combat Log, I would guess that all the buttons were clickable BUT the actual tab at the top of the window covered up the left 4 buttons. Also, putting the cursor on the Combat Log window popped up the Blizz up/down buttons.
It would be default behavior for the Bliz up/down buttons to appear when you mouse over the combat log. The should have been located inside the left edge of the combat log as memory serves. Likewise, the tab for the combat log would also appear normally when you mouse over it while the combat log is the active frame.

The thing that concerns me is your statement that the tab covers the left 4 buttons. It should not be covering any of the buttons and I'm betting at this point that your bag bar is not located where it is supposed to be. The right edge of the backback button should be aligned with the right edge of the information panel and the entire bag bar should be located above the top edge of the dashboard. I'm betting neither is true and I'm also betting that if you go to your interface options and select video that you'll find you have your "Use UI Scale" option checked.

This is a known bug at present that nUI does not play well with the "Use UI Scale" option -- I'm working on it. In the meantime, uncheck that option and I'm pretty sure the problem will go away.

When I changed to the other map (I think that's called the Battlefield Map?) all buttons were clickable.

When I changed back to the Minimap the buttons turned un-clickable again. It might be me but I thought that the map was also a tad too high with the top border hitting the bagbar buttons.

Also noticed an empty button (?) space to the left of the Minimap Button Bag.
That empty space to the left of the minimap button bag is where your Keyring goes. I'm guessing this is a lowbie character you're testing on? The keyring does not show until the toon gets its first key... it's a Bliz thing I have no real control over.

As for the placement of the bagbar, would it be an option for you to locate it above the menu bar in the top console? Sorry about this, but I really don't like the current location .
Well... first, I think the bag bar is not where it's supposed to be as is. Second, no, it can't go above the micromenu as that space will soon be filled by several key features... Equipment Durability, Wardrobe Manager, Ammo Tracker and Gold Tracker.

It's not a bug. ~lol~ They are one and the same. At present ALL of the nUI bars are replications of the existing Bliz bars. At some point I'll add the ability to change that.

If it helps any, I will (fairly soon) be adding bar sets where you can swap bar configurations like you so unit panels, info panels, etc. so you can create complete action button layouts for raiding, PvP, BG, Arena, Sololing, etc.

Ummm... the Minimap in the Beta2 is square though there is now an option to make it round for those who have the rotate map option set in their Bliz config. Are you on the current version of nUI?

I shoved it down in the bottom right corner, and shortened the Recount and Omen panels to reduce overlap. It's messy, but temporary, and Grid is hard to beat for raid frames. Eloora --

I'm going to play with Grid for a bit and I'll see what I can do from there. Some comments from yourself and others who use it about what you like most about it would be good feedback I can build from.

Dorna --

~lol~ That's why I failed to get the update out last night that I promised... I gave my daughter some time to play her toons (she's 10) and promptly fell asleep about 8pm. In any event, thanks for the sentiment.

As for the dead zone... I'm going to throw a guess out there that you're using Titan Panel. Apparently this is something new in the latest version and I've had some other people report it, too. I'm looking in to it, but don't have a fix yet.

Hmmm... the durability frame should be located front and center below the console. Perhaps I broke something there... I'll look into it and thanks for the report.

If you're going to take a look at Grid, take a look at PRaid (PerfectRaid) while you're at it. They are both similar in functionality, but I prefer PRaid. Just to give you some ideas. :-)

Just a question: would it be possible to show the minimap and the battlefield map at the same time?
Usually i use them both in the battle grounds...

Maybe an option to replace the focus frame with the minimap, i dont really need it in bgs.
But thats just my personal opinion

Which world map replacement works best with nUI

I use Cartographer for my mapping needs. When the Warsong Gulch battlefield map comes up in the information area (lower left), it is in portrait mode and does not fit nicely in the box. Is there a specific mapping add-on that works better with nUI???

Exclamation nUI Beta 2.03.00 just released....

Sorry I'm a day late with this release. I kinda crashed last night ~lol~ I should have another update out Monday sometime and will hope to have the cooldown bar and the in-HUD threat bar in that release.

As a matter of record, I am planning on freezing new development on nUI the last day of September and will start, October 1st, porting nUI to WotLK with the expectation of having Beta 3 ready for release when WotLK goes live. In the meantime, I hope to have all the key functionality in place and the Beta 2 fully stable by the end of September. ~fingers crossed~

How you can help support nUI's continue development: To be perfectly blunt, this project is my sole source of income at present, so your donation, however big or small, truly makes an impact in my life. Your contribution of $5, $10, $20 or more to support the ongoing development of nUI would be greatly appreciated. Click here to make a donation now, please?! Lastly, please vote for nUI and add it to your favorites list... it helps nUI get more exposure. Thanks for your support!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Known Issues:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Enabling the "Use UI Scale" option in the Bliz video configuration menu blows up
nUI's layout and scaling. For now... just uncheck this option until I can fix it.

* still some issues with buff/debuff icons and timers ~sigh~

* Some action buttons highlight as invalid/unavailable when they shouldn't... hunter's
feed pet button, rogue's distract, etc.

* Carbonite is having issues updating the directional arrow when the minimap and/or
battlefield minimap is hidden in the info panel

* Durability frame is missing

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To-Do List
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* The 15, 20, 25 and 40 man raid panels are not in the pre-release... both because I am
not quite satisfied with them and, again, I'm trying to not have to fix everything at
once... make sure the core stuff is all working, then add the bells and whistles if
you understand.

* Reputation bar needs to be added back in

* Add Threat Bar back

* Add sorting of raid unit frames by raid group and class

* Add font size options for Chat and Combat log frames

* Add totem timers

* Add keybindings for button bag, unit panel, info panel and hud layout buttons

* Add automatic unit panel switching for raids/parties, etc. (and an override option)

* Add audio cues for cooldowns, cc breaks, etc.

* Add DruidManaBar type functionality to unit frames

* Add 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 unit frame panels for arena play

* Add Proximo functionality to unit frames for arena unit panels

* Add durability, wardrobe manager, ammo tracker and gold tracker to console buttons

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 2.03.00 (Beta)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Added talent spec browsing to unit frames

* Added talent spec to the HUD

* Added Elite/Rare/Rare Elite/World Boss tags to unit frames and HUD

* Added mob type to unit frames

* Added '/nui roundmap' slash command to toggle between the default square minimap
style and a round minimap (suitable for using the "rotate minimap" option with)

* Added Elite, Rare and World Boss dragon icons to the HUD and unit frames -- with
thanks to RavenWhisper for doing the artwork!

* Moved the minimap mail button and battlefield button from the button bag to the
center of the dashboard on the player location panel

* Updated Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese language files

* Updated German language files

* Fixed a bug in the HUD health race bar toggle slash command where the race bar
would reappear after being turned off

* Fixed a bug in the nUI_UnitLevel module that prevented unit frames from detecting
party member level ups.

* Fixed the Druid cat form stealth problem with action bars

* Fixed a bug in the health race bar that caused it to not accurately display the
player's health when targets changed

Oh goodie! New toys :-)

I'm on my way to bed, but I'll put in some serious play time between tomorrow night and Monday and I'll let you know how it goes. Other than already-documented issues, I haven't found any new problems with the most recent release of nUI. I have a good 10-12 hours of play time in on it. It is superb.

Although, I did discover that there is an updated version of Poisoner available at www.curse.com, and even the new version doesn't like the button bag. If I remember, I'll email you a copy of Poisoner along with my SavedVariables\nUI.lua file. I'm thinking Poisoner might work just fine if the button bag ignored it completely, but that's just late night musing.
