Rapd FPS Change! o_O

Hey I was just wondering if someone could please tell me why I have such a rapid FPS increase since i installed this custom UI package, I mean its great! I'd just like to know what setting is doing this for me

New UI package, 1280x1024, High frames

My usual UI with Even a few lower settings, 1280x1024, Lower frames

Could it perhaps even be the fubar performance trackers? The trackers are different in both packages. My usual UI's(bottom image) max fps is about 64

Thanks for anything

That is vertical sync.

What it does is it matches your max fps with what the refresh rate is for your monitor. Meaning that you will never get fps higher then the refresh rate of your monitor with this setting on

Because even if you turn it off and it says you have 100 fps you still won't get more then 60 if your screen uses 60hz update rate...

Having played with this settig uynchecked for a little longer now, I am indeed noticing "screen flickering" quite often. Should i increase the refresh rate to its max of 100hz?

Sorry for not being able to answer your question Qynova; but, I turned everything up except terrain distance and I got 2-4 more frames while in thunder bluff .

Nice I was so surprised when i saw a 40 fps increase. However, I've turned this option back on becasue of screen flickering and tearing

This monitor creates horizontal static looking lines that at times can cover the whole screen creating this almost smoggy effect making it impossible to view anything, yea its a great feature lol. I also used to play wow on a 200mhz processor with melted capacitors and a broken 128 meg graphics card, The computer crashed every few minutes, it was fantastic

I can't really read what you typed, but that has to be the worst info ever. Vista isn't very stable, and even worst with games.

Yea i bought an Nvidia 8800 the other day hoping it would fix my frame rate and the problem with my screen tearing and such..yea that was a complete waste. runs great on my old win xp machine but i lack the ram to play wow on that one. also when i installed the card it shot my sound up pretty bad. now i can't use vent/ts or listen to music while wow is up
