I have tried to download and use the latest clcret.. but it says out of date... how can i get it to work?

you can either click the "Enable Out-Of-Date AddOns" or open up the .toc files in the clcret and clcret_options (in notepad) and change

## Interface: 40000

to

## Interface: 40100

Please note that changing the ToC version number doesn't magically make the AddOn compatible with the current version of WoW - something may have changed in the patch to make it truly broken.

The ToC version is there so that the author of said AddOn can change it to a compatible version when the AddOn is actually compatible.

That's true.

Anyway, the latest release of CLCRet (r186) is working fine on live servers, thought it might say it's out of date.
