Smile carbonite is a super awesome addon=)

I cant wait till carbonite is all fixed up and ready to go again...I feel totally lost in the game without it now lol. I have to say that Rythal is a life saver and amazing to keep working on this addon ...there r so many ppl that love using this map addon and I REALLY love the red trail left on the map to show where I went while I move around in a zone ty ty =) I think its ridiculous that blizzard hasn't even come close to making a map like this yet... they should support Rythal and pay him to help make it part of the game..he surely deserves some awesome compensation for all his hard work..and we love u for it Rythal!!! u have no idea how happy u make us all by keeping carbonite alive ty again!!!

Thumbs up Thank you Ebmor

I just wanted to say thanks Ebmor for this hotfix. My friend and I have both been using this without a hitch (using the second updated version.) It actually makes me feel like I'm playing Wow again lol!
Anyway, I know it's not a completed version of Carbonite, but it sure is helping for now. Huge appreciation to you for this, and of course to Rythal for his tireless efforts to keep this wonderful addon going!

Btw, I noticed that AceBucket-3.0 and AceTab-3.0 were not in the Libs folder of the Carbonite Beta zip we used. I added those anyway in addition to overwriting the old folders. Also: I did not add the file that was not in a folder (libs.xml.) I'm just mentioning this in case others are running into issues in-game or with their install.

Thanks for the hotfix, I love having the map back.. however; anytime I get a quest update that pops of I.E 1 of X kills etc, I get about a second lag. Any clue how to fix that?

Thank you

I just wanted to step in and say thank you to Rythal and all who are working on fixing carbonite, its a ruff job to go thru the code and fix it, just never mind those whining about it taking so long, they very apparently have no idea the work it is to fix issues that blizz has added or they would fix it themselves.
Again thank you all for your hard work on this addon.

Routing

It seams like the routing option don't work for finding herbs/ore. works for unexplored areas and user set GOTO. I like making a way through a zone then later routing. I guess this will have to wait. Though another time it said (map?) scale not set. Other than that looks like it works. I like having the quest log and the option to zoom in/out the best.

Same here, no so bad but maybe there is a fix for this. Its related to quest watcher window of Carbonite. This window reloads gives this lag.

Omg Yay

I want to thank you so much for this interim fix! I only just logged in after following your most excellent step by step hot-fix & am so happy with what i see so far.
Now I can wait for Carbonite update with a smile.

EXPERIMENTAL, BUGGY AND INCOMPLETE 6.0 3RD-PARTY HOTFIX!
Draenor zones are not supported.

last update: 2014-11-04
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created this hotfix originally solely for my personal use
to bring some basic Carbonite functionality up and running and
I have currently no plans to update this one any further.

Obviously a full working version requires a lot of more work
beyond my few dumb and rash workarounds.

Rythal has already announced that he will release a 6.x version
of the addon. You can look up the progress here:

http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=50039

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hotfix steps -- FOR EXPERIENCED USERS ONLY --

1. Exit the game.

2. Make a backup copy of your <WOW>\WTF folder and keep it at a safe place.
(maybe you will need your old Carbonite settings at a later date).

3. Delete all old Carbonite related folders located under <WOW>\Interface\AddOns\

4. Get the "official" Carbonite 5.4.2 Alpha 5 from here:

http://www.wowinterface.com/download...TAVERSION.html

and extract the contents of "CarboniteBETA-542a5.zip" to

<WOW>\Interface\AddOns\

5. Get a current version of the Ace3 libraries from here:

http://www.wowace.com/addons/ace3/files/

(e.g. Ace3-r1124.zip) and update (overwrite) the folders located under

<WOW>\Interface\AddOns\Carbonite\Libs

6. Get the attached CarboniteHotfix20141104.zip and update (overwrite)
the files in the various Carbonite folders located under

<WOW>\Interface\AddOns\

7. Start the game and enable loading of out-of-date addons.

(I have not updated the TOCs to make it clear that this a incomplete,
buggy, "unofficial" and completely unsupported hotfix.)

Further recommendation: Do not run the "Overachiever" addon together
with this hotfix (additional LUA errors).

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 2014-11-04:

I got tired of some issues of the old "CarboniteHotfix20141029v2"
hotfix. Please use "CarboniteHotfix20141104" instead.

- map issues (missing zones, wrong indexes) fixed
- carbonite quest window fixed

Draenor zones are still not supported.

WoD will be released soon.
The even more experimental "CarboniteHotfix20141112" hotfix is now available (see post #1).
