Strange ticking/buzzing sound

I have an odd problem. On every character except my main, when I log in there is a drumroll sound followed by a "THUMP" sound, ; sometimes for an instant I can see in the center of the screen for about 2 sec 4-5 empty frames labeled Win 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. For the entire duration I stay logged into these alts there is a odd surging sound, like a humming/buzzing. Quite randomly too! Even stranger, on my mage there isn't a buzz...it ticks...

It's driving me batty, and I've gone through my addons so many times it makes me dizzy. I can't even play on the mage for longer than 20 min without getting so irritated by the constant tic...tic...tictic...tic that I have to log off!

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried diabling any of the mods that may be culprits.

ChatSounds for instance has some of the sound effects you mention. Maybe its conflicting with another mod and going haywire.

If you want to get a rough idea of where it's coming from create an addon with a ! in front of its name with the following code (100% drycoded may not work):

what about critalert?:

• It plays a sound alert and/or shows a visual icon every time the character enters/exits combat.

Disabling chatsounds DID fix the ticking but not that horrific buzzing surging sound...still looking =)

Thanks for reminding me about Chatsounds, I'd forgotten about that one!
