Choosing the nodes

I have been using the route feature, to do a bit of herb gathering.
It works very well.
But
Is there a way to choose the ressource you want to gather, and then route it?
Basixcally, say I want to gather Mageroyal in Barrens, can i show only Mageroyal nodes, and then route them ?

I don't I can at the moment, but it would be a good idea.
Maybe.

Thanx

It would indeed be a nice feature, but I don't know how much work it would be to implement. Right now, I'll hazard a guess that gathering nodes are stored in tables based on their type (herb, ore, fish, etc), and then it's simply an icon id and coordinate set. To filter it by a specific type (without hurting performance), would mean filtering into a new table (or tables).

And, of course, the GUI part of selecting what to display. It would probably need a new config page, since a drop menu of checkboxes would be fairly big and cumbersome (especially if fishing nodes are added!).

I love the idea, and it would indeed be awfully handy... but it also sounds like a lot of work. One of the authors is welcome to come and prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

Actually this feature is already in Carbonite.

Open the "Guide" (Little question mark butotn on the bottom right of the map).

Select Category "Gather"
Select subcategory "Ore"

By default all ores are selected, shift click the icon for each type you want to turn off. If you just click instead of shift-clicking it will turn off whatever you click, but return to on everything else. Quick way to set it back if you have deselected alot of stuff

Now on the map, right click, select "Route" then "Current gather locations"

And that's it, your done, it does exactly what you asked for.

Using the Guide as described will do that. You need to be careful though, since several nodes types like Titanium, Silver or Gold are just rare spawns off of other node types. For example, trying to find just Titanium is pointless, since it is a rare spawn from Saranite Deposits in any of 4 different zones.

Lichbloom and Icethorn have a similar randomness, where you can get both from the same nodes although those are about a 50/50 chance, since neither is rare.

Thank you!

I knew there must be a way to do this, I was clicking herbs in that list but like you said it would just turn on the other one I had turned off lol. Now I know to "shift click" to disable low level nodes I dont need. Thank you so much for his tip! Maybe they could add that tip to the tooltip as you mouse over nodes in the list?

Thumbs up

Using the guide as described i can only track a route for ONE type of node.

If i would like to gather more than one node, there is no way.

Normally if i would train my herb-skill, i only look for Herbs that are yellow/orange, i'm not interesting in Green/Grey Herbs.
So it would be nice, that i can select, which type of Node is displayed and used for the track.

An other interesting feature would be, if i can shift-Klick on a Node in the Map, an this single Node will be excluded from the actual view. Why? some Nodes are on very bad Positions (e.g. in dungeon, mob-camp, on top of a hill, etc), and i wouldnt gather this one, because it is to much effort.

suggestion:
Shift-Klick on a Node excludes this only one Node vom actual View
STRG-Klick on a Node excludes all Nodes of this Type from the view

You make me happy, if you implement this Featue

Or you can use the strategy mentioned above, and Shift-click any extra nodes you want to go through in the Guide.

This is covered in the stickied thread "Carbonite Nodes, Routing, And You", by yours truly.

okay, thank for this hint.

But the other suggestion remains open:
I would like to exclude Nodes from my track temporarily or permanent.

In the eastern Plaguelands are many Nodes on top of mountain, so i have no idea how i can reach them.
These i would like to exclude permanent from database.

Then go to Keybindings, set a key to "Skip current goto target" (it's under Carbonite's keybindings) and use that key when you come to a node you can't get to.

This, too, is covered in the stickied thread "Carbonite Nodes, Routing, And You".
