Carbonite 4.0006 beta released

Carbonite 4.0006 beta is released! It is for WoW 4.0+

Since it is beta, it is only available as a zip file downloaded from from the link on our download page.

Please post bug reports for this version only in this bug forum.

Changes 4.0006:
Fixed missing map detail graphics.

Uses same settings as before. Was just a change of the filenames used.

Often people update and put the files in the wrong location, but think they have the current version.

Does it actually say 4.0006 in the chat window when you log into a character?
You could also see the version number in the addon list.

In the few days I was without Carbonite after the 4.01 patch, I tried several other map and quest addons. Nothing came close to Carbonite. I'm so glad to have it back. Thank you for the update.

Thank you very much. Working great with no errors at all.

Making questing much simpler. Love having the detailed map back as well, makes it easier to get around in the zones with lots of hills.

It is still blurry for me on 40006. (note version number in pics below) All other add ons disabled. Tried /carb resetwin.
Any ideas? Is there a setting or some directory I can check?

I always delete the old carbonite folders before extracting the new version.

Carbonite folders are installed to:
D:\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns

Nevermind my last post. I was able to get it to show the detail textures by renaming the WoW cache directory and changing zones. Detail working fine now.

Is there any way to disable the blizzard clock? they took it out of the standard options and it has now migrated onto my button bar with this new version.

Easy option so I just added:

Added "Show 'Clock' minimap button" on Map Minimap Options page.

Will be in 4.01 shortly.

so renaming wow cache fixes the detail lvl? I am trying to figure out how to get mine working right too but I'm not going to mess with wow, I just thought it was something in Carb that just needed to be updated but wasn't just yet.

let me know what needs to be done to fix it (settings wise)

Don't really need to rename the cache folder; just delete what ever's inside it. It's basically WoW's version of a browser's cache and is completely safe to delete; hell it's not even present when you first install WoW.

Furthermore, Blues will often say to delete the Cache, Interface, and WTF folder if you have issues with the client not performing as expected...though I recommend backing up Interface and WTF first

4.0006 did fix it.

Download 4.01, install and check that it says 4.01 in the addon list, then test it again.

Also right click a non icon area of Carb map, select Scale and see if Details At Scale is set to something like 2.0.

Looks like some type of radius display that some other addon is adding to the minimap.

Except I as far as I know I have no other addons that change the map at all. Except Npc scan. And this circle is up ALL the time in every zone. since the patch.

Sigh its NPC scan and it turns out he added just for your mod nice eh.

The Minimap Button appears to bugged, I have tried everything the move it in game, even having my toon kiss it...offer it food (appart from shift and drag), wear sexy clothes for it, but it does not seem to move. Also Carbonite seems to be an instance hog (memory) when it comes to raiding. Don't get me wrong it's still beats blizzards interface, and has beaten QH since its inception....is there a way to lower its memory input on raids or to have it self disable when instance/raid screens come up? This may be a big ask, but if I don't ask I won't know
