SCT Problem

Hi,

im new here and sry for my bad english ^^

I have a problem with SCT. Yesterday i installed Windows Vista and reinstall WoW. Before hdd format ive make a copy of my WTF & Interface folder. After reinstall i just copy the 2 folders back to the wow folder. Now i have the problem that i become "xxx begins to cast xxx" at the message field. That was not there before and i cant find any option to switch this off. I dont want to know who mages water in a raid or who cast healspells. Im a mage and its spam for me. Its something like spell alert but i dont have any addons installed who make this. Only SCT & SCTD, auctioneer, gatherer, Pearl, ctmod, cryolys.

Somebody know how can i solve my problem? I like SCT and i dont want remove it. Bevore reinstall everything was okay -.-

It sounds like "Witchhunt" - which you do not list.

Verify Witchhunt is not installed.

Type /sct for the SCT options - turn off what bugs you.

I havent that addon installed. Before the new install the problem wasnt there.

Every spell or ability that someone use shows me *** xy begins to cast water, bread, bandage *** or anything else. Healspells etc

Cant find any option to disable it. Only when SCT is disabled then its not there. Its on the Message line

When i disable SCT & SCTD in the options it will appears. Only disalble SCT in addon menu will disable the message

I am trying to tell you you may need to CONFIGURE SCT to turn off the messages. Type "/sct" bring up the option panel, and start turning off SCT OPTIONS until you get the desired result.

SCT has many, many options. Click <HERE> for instructions on configuring SCT to make it do what you want it to do.

I use SCT many month and never comes a message who is casting something. Same version then without this message, same Interface folder, same WTF folder just reinstall windows and WoW. Is it possible that other addons use the Messageline from SCT too?

Yes, other addons DO use SCT, such as Witchunt which you said you didnt use.

Have you looked at the configuration options in sct?

List all of your addons you are using - every one, perhaps I will see something that could case those messages.

That being said, these messages can be very helpful, ecspecially for PvP.

Yes but in a raid i dont want to see who is healing who or who use bandage ect ^^ I will post all addons in a fwe minutes

Yeah- need him to list all his addons - he has something in there sending messages to SCT.

Well you have me stumped. I do not believe SCT scans for nearby events by itself, and I do not see Witchhunt or SpellAlert.

The only thing ive done is copy Interface & WTF folder, format HDD, install Vista Ultimate 64bit, install WoW, copy Interface & WTF back. Before with XP it was okay without this mass message ^^ Its really horro in a Raid when the healers cast spells. I cant find any option for a red text in the message field in the SCT options. When i move the message field in SCT, this messages will move too. Maybe tomorrow i must delete all addons and copy one by one and test ... many work... I tryed to rename the WTF folder and make a clear one. Same effect. The messages are there from start...

Heh, thanks Flarin, but I'm stumped, too.

I already went through that list and looked up the mods I wasn't familiar with, then figured I'd let someone else answer who may have a better inkling.

My advice - before you clear your addons and start anew, clear your sct saved variables or change to a new/clean profile.

I tryed already to delete SCT savedvariables, dont work. I tryed to rename WTF folder and make a complete new WTF folder all settings was resetted, dont work.

I know before my reinstall from windows and WoW 1-3 addons was disabled in addon options on the char screen but i dont know the disabled addons -.-

) but does this problem persist if you turn off *all* mods except sct?

Could it be bigwigs? doesn't that show when people cast too besides for boss stuff?

no, that looks like just a regular old BigWigs install... Now, I'm not familiar with all of the plugins, they may do something similar in some situations, but he has no extra modules installed.

Besides - as you can see in the screenshot - it happens even when he's not in a raid.
