Blizzard Raid Frames - modification

With 4.2, the new raid frames profiler allows you to sort by groups and then expand the groups horizontally (left to right) rather than vertically (top to bottom). The only problem with this is that it keeps showing the Group # between the groups, which really takes up a lot of screen space.

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

And I'm not all that interested in grid or any other raid frame addon that completely replaces it.
